Walmart, along with other US retailers have committed in products designed and manufactured in the U.S.

Why is manufacturing moving back to the U.S.?

Consumers generally believe products "Made In The USA" are better made and are a better value. The adage "You get what you pay for." is why many brands are moving their manufacturing back to the United States.
The increase of labor cost, along with increase shipping and tariff cost have made US based manufacturing much more competitive than most companies think.
U.S. based manufacturers are held to higher quality standard then their overseas counterpart. This means safer products which results in less business risk.
People feel patriotic when they support the U.S. economy and create jobs for American workers. They also want to know that factory workers are not subjected to unsafe conditions, low wages or other forms of exploitation that the U.S. Department of Labor and domestic labor unions protect against.

Not only does manufacturing products domestically create jobs – in many cases, it’s more efficient. Manufacturing goods closest to the point of sale allows for quicker turnaround time from factory to shelf. It’s good for business, good for customers and good for our stores.
